What does a kundli show?

A janam kundli is a traditional map of the sky for the time and place of birth. It includes planetary signs, the ascendant, Moon sign and nakshatra. Astronomy provides the calculation of where celestial bodies were. Astrology supplies traditional interpretations of those positions. A calculated position does not make an interpretation a scientific fact or a guaranteed prediction.

The twelve houses are associated with topics such as family, education and relationships. Reading one planet or one house in isolation can be misleading. Begin by identifying your ascendant, Moon sign and birth nakshatra. Once those words feel familiar, the rest of the chart becomes easier to explore. You do not need to memorise every term before getting started.

Keep these birth details ready

You need the birth date, the local time of birth and the birth city. A hospital record or a note written at the time can help. Check morning versus evening, the date around midnight and the minutes. If a relative remembers only an approximate time, keep that uncertainty in mind rather than treating the estimate as exact.

Choose the city where the person was born, rather than where they live today. This matters for NRIs too. Someone born in London who now lives in Delhi should select London. Enter the local birth time instead of converting it to Indian time yourself. Check any time zone information shown by the tool, especially for places with historical daylight saving changes.

Ayanamsa is the offset between tropical and sidereal zodiacs; you do not need to learn its formula to use the tool. The important starting point is entering the birth information carefully.

Review the date, time and location before interpreting results. Then look at the Moon sign and nakshatra. Treat a dasha list as a traditional timing framework, rather than a calendar of guaranteed events. If you compare results with another service, use identical birth details and calculation settings. Small differences do not automatically prove that one chart is wrong.

Chart privacy and AI chat are separate

Birth date, time and place are processed on your device when you generate a kundli. They do not reach our server. We count that a chart was generated, without collecting its birth details. A name entered for a share card also stays in your browser. Check the information visible on a card before sending it to someone else.
